That snorts pesticides like they were
Lines of coke and still
Shows up on time to work the next day
Looking no worse for the wear."

We are the only ones who will take care of each other. The only way out is through.

I don't use instantgram on my phone, I use it on a web browser. There are a lot of features I don't have access to, one of them being that I'm not able to re-post anything from other people. Another is that I can't add music to anything I post.

That's okay, because instantgram is really stupid. But it also sucks, because instantgram is really stupid.

We are playing in support of @night_jobs who are releasing their EP "Shop Dog"

We are playing in support of our friend @thedrevlow, who is traveling from Georgia the State, not Georgia the Country.

We are playing in support of @tightwhips.mpls to help them improve their grip on lions (previously loose grips, but we have a concept of a plan)

We are releasing our full length record, which we are very proud of, called "Competitive Grief."

Would love to see you there, but if you prefer, I will wear sunglasses so dark I fall asleep instead.

Jake runs @mariette_amp_labs with his wife @mallorzz and a couple other key players they employ, and you can catch him out at shows (probably @cloudlandtheater), probably smiling and hollering along to the words of the song being played in front of him.

E and Jake have been kicking around Northeast Minneapolis since around 2014, playing in bands together and taking on construction projects while always keeping their approach in mind towards the situation at hand to, "Jam Econo." @oosambeeroo recently asked them during his visit recently to their HQ, "What, are you guys brothers?"

@dustysne is an exotic animal you'd assume only lives in Madagascar, some sort of knot in spacetime, forever in the every god's blind spot. Stay golden.

rftrs is a band. We played shows until we didn't, and that was before we released our full length record, Competitive Grief.

On 10-4, good buddy, those things won't be true. We intend to play the best set of our lives @cloudlandtheater. We intend to shake one of everyone's hands. We are playing in support of our good buddies @night_jobs, who are releasing their EP of high fidelity sonics. And we will have copies of our own lost record - which you can have for free if you buy one of Night Jobs'ses.

We shall become so absolutely free that our very existence is an act of rebellion. The struggle itself is enough to fill our hearts - run tell that, Sisyphus.

Another great show! Forced Humility came all the way from Finland to melt faces, and they succeeded.

Big ups to Ice Everlasting for coming through at the last minute! I was so excited I forgot to get a picture of them playing, and for this I shall be regretful everlasting.

"All that harms labor is treason to America." -Attributed to Abraham Lincoln, unless you ask a capitalist.

In this installment, we zoom out to explore a chapter in the story of the national labor movement.

You could say it's a forgotten chapter, or you could be correct about it and say the history was systematically oppressed by - at the minimum - ensuring it was not included in compulsory education in America. In the same breath you could thank Rockefeller for the library system while blaming Rockefeller for deleting this history from the library system. And you'd be correct to say that's why Rockefeller donated libraries in the first place.

On the heels of World War II, the United States experienced a wave of strikes by workers demanding safer working conditions for the most part. With 10 million service members returning from the war, and workers moving from war time sectors to traditional sectors, industry was a tumultuous mess and employers took every advantage. Labor historian Jeremy Brecher describes this strike wave as "the closest thing to a national general strike of industry in the twentieth century." About 5 million American workers engaged in organized strikes, representing a massive share of American workers.

The cover photo for Labor's Untold Story is a photograph from the 1946 General Electric Strike in Philadelphia. Shown are 8 cops distributing the violence of the State on an unnamed striker.

In response to this strike wave, Congress abandoned Labor and overrode Truman's veto to pass the Taft-Hartley Act, which restricted what a labor union can do. In huge ways. The THA prohibited wildcat strikes and striking or boycotting in solidarity, amongst many other things, like requiring union leaders to sign affidavits declaring they weren't communists. Taft-Hartley paved the way for McCarthyism, defined a lot of the current landscape of American Labor, and is still in effect today.

But don't let anyone ever tell you America didn't love Labor.
